Sardar@150 Unity March held in Longleng

To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, a District Level Unity Rally was oragnised by the District Administration Longleng, in collaboration with MY Bharat Longleng on November 12.

The rally commenced from DC Office and concluded at Public Sports Ground. SP Longleng Shri Yanger Jamir flagged off the march. The culmination programme was held at the DC office Compound Longleng .

Participants from the Various Schools and College, Police Department and various government line departments actively took part in the event, which highlighted Patel’s vision of national unity and integrity.

The culmination pro-gramme featured vibrant cultural presentations, including traditional dances and songs performed by the BGHSS students.

Speaking at the programme Hitesh Kumar District Youth Officer, MY Bharat Longleng, in his address, paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s legacy as a symbol of unity, courage, and states-manship. “Born on 31st October 1875, Sardar Patel’s life stands as a shining example of determination, integrity, and selfless service to the nation,” he said.

BGHSS Senior Principal M. arul Maran highlighted Patel’s pivotal role in the historic integration of over 560 princely states, his contribution as India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and
Home Minister and his establishment of the All India Services termed the “Steel Frame of India.” The officer encouraged the gathering to uphold Patel’s vision of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat (One India, Great India), reminding that “our true strength lies in our diversity and unity.”

To mark the occasion, a week long series of activi ties was organized in the district, including essay and debate competitions, poster making, cleanliness drives, wellness sessions, and talks on the life and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
